Chris Hemsworth's wife wins topless pic lawsuit

Chris Hemsworth’s actress wife has won her case against a Spanish magazine which published topless photos of her on a beach in Mexico.

The Thor star's partner, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, was awarded $405,000 on Monday by Spain's Supreme Court after the photographs were ruled to be an "invasion of privacy".

A snap of Pataky topless appeared on the cover of a Spanish publication in March 2007 after being taken by paparazzo while she modelled for a photoshoot with Elle magazine.

The actress had been posing topless for the shoot, covering her breasts with her hands, but was snapped with a long-lens camera whilst changing between shots.

The verdict on Wednesday comes a day Britain's royal family won an injunction banning French magazine Closer from running any more intimate pictures of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge from her recent holiday in the south of France.

The pictures, which showed the young royal removing her bikini top, sparked a furore which hit headlines across the world.
