Madonna Clarifies Comment Made about Obama

Madonna has been forced to clarify comments she made about US President Barack Obama at a recent gig  after she called him a “black Muslim”. She gave her backing to President Obama as he fights for a second term in the White House during her show in Washington, D.C. on Monday (24 September).

After comparing him to Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. in a video montage, the singer - who had 'Obama' written on her back - told the audience, "Y'all better vote for f**king Obama, OK? For better or for worse, all right? We have a black Muslim in the White House.”
She added, "That's some amazing s**t. It means there is hope in this country. And Obama is fighting for gay rights, so support the man."

Madonna has now had to clarify what she meant by the comments – after a clip of her impassioned speech went viral and received a backlash from some of her fans and critics.
In a statement released by Madonna, she said, "I was being ironic on stage. Yes, I know Obama is not a Muslim - though I know that plenty of people in this country think he is. And what if he were?”
"The point I was making is that a good man is a good man, no matter who he prays to. I don't care what religion Obama is - nor should anyone else in America."
