Malaysia: Police arrested three Nigerian college students on drug charges

Police have arrested three Nigerian college students for possessing 2kg worth of Syabu, valued at RM400,000, in an apartment in Butterworth on Wednesday.

The drug was kept in a bag in the apartment in Lorong Widuri.

Also seized was a Proton Saga car and some money.
Penang police chief Datuk Abd Rahim Hanafi said the three men, aged 24 to 32, were studying in a private college in Penang.

"Two of them had valid travel documents with a student pass while the other man did not have his passport with him," he said at a press conference at the state contingent headquarters yesterday.

Abd Rahim said the men were being remanded at the Butterworth police station and would be investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act, which carries the mandatory death sentence.
