FG To Immortalize Nnamdi Azikwe By Building N1.4 Billion Mausoleum

It is a very good thing to remember our past heroes, but I also think we should set our priorities right. One of our problems in this country is 'misplaced priorities' and this is a clear example of that.
The government has approved a whooping sum of  N1.4 billion to build a Mausoleum for Nnamdi Azikiwe. The Mausoleum which is to immortalize Nigeria's first president will be built in Onitsha, Anambra state. The contract approved by the Federal Executive Council was given out for a sum of N1,496,531,483 with a completion of 13 months.

I will say it's a good idea but wrong timing.

A lot of Nigerians are hungry, and their living conditions plummeting. The menace of Boko haram is increasing, and many nagging issues concerning the welfare of Nigerians are left unattended to. Yet, building a fancy tomb for a man who is long dead with 1.4 billion Naira is topmost priority? Sad
