Husband finds out wife used to be a man after almost 20 years of marriage

A man is under psychiatric care after finding out that his wife of almost 20-years was born a man and had a sex change before they met. The man, now a woman, even fooled her husband by planting sanitary napkins in the bathroom and throwing away ones that looked to be used once a month, according toThe Telegraph on Tuesday, Nov 27, 2012.

The man, who is only known as Jan, married a woman the press is calling Monica, who was his family’s former au pair during his first marriage. Jan said sex wasn’t any different with Monica, so the bedroom aspect of their married life didn’t offer up a clue. He didn’t want to have kids because he had them from a previous marriage and Monica was fine with this, when all along she couldn’t get pregnant.

Jan went through a lot of red tape to bring Monica to his native country of Belgium because her birth certificate and other documents were thought to be falsified by authorities at first, but Jan finally got her there. Looking back, this could have been a red flag, but she was beautiful and appeared as a woman in every way, shape and form.

She bonded with his children and became a much-loved member of the family. Now he feels “assaulted,” and he is also undergoing psychiatric care as a result of this new reveal. Jan found out as friends starting hearing rumors, along with his own son hearing the same rumors about Monica previously being a man. It seems that Monica changed suddenly and started dressing provocatively and hitting the club scene, which started people talking.

Jan is trying to get his marriage annulled because he got married under false pretenses, but so far the court has denied his request. His request to severe Monica out of the family assets has also been denied. Jan found about Monica’s clubbing after finding “amorous messages” from other men on her computer. He confronted Monica and a violent row occurred, which led to the police being called.

Not only is Jan having a hard time after finding out that the woman he loved and lived with as his wife for almost 20 years was once a man, his children are also devastated.
