The police said Monday that they were searching for the mother of Nigeria’s finance minister after she was kidnapped on Sunday. Kamene Okonjo, 83, the mother of Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, was abducted in Ogwashi-Uku in Delta State. Ms. Okonjo-Iweala was among the candidates for the World Bank’s top job last spring. The police declined to say whether the kidnappers had asked for a ransom.
